Book Parade and Book Fair

It is always wonderful to see how creative and impressive you all are when it comes to book parade. It’s a wonderful time to celebrate beautiful books and wonderful stories. This year’s theme to book week was ‘A Symphony of Stories’ – and some of our students’ costumes truly sang!

Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking

Congratulations to our finalists, Hailey and Ana from Stage 2, and Aliya and Iva from Stage 3, for representing our school in the Multicultural Perspectives Public Speaking Competition.

100 Days of Learning

On Tuesday 28^th July, Marsden Road celebrated 100 days of Learning! Our students enjoyed a fabulous day filled with fun activities and treats. Students dressed in all kinds of colourful outfits and costumes, with many celebrating the number 100. There were many grandmas and grandpas hobbling around the playground. It also looks like the Kindergarten teachers had aged quite significantly too!

In Term 2 Week 10, our Kindergarten students enjoyed a wonderful excursion to Calmsley Hill City Farm.

They were so excited to go on their first excursion! The students loved petting all the adorable animals and even got to experience milking a cow. The bumpy tractor ride through the fields was a thrilling adventure for everyone as they saw all the different animals that live on the farm. The students were able to watch an exciting whip-cracking show, an incredibly skilled sheepdog in action and a live sheep shearing demonstration. It was a fun-filled day, giving students a wonderful insight into farm life.

K–2 Athletics Carnival

On Thursday 23rd July, our K–2 students enjoyed a wonderful day at the annual Athletics Carnival under perfect sunny skies. Students enthusiastically participated in a range of novelty events, including egg and spoon races, relays and parachute activities, led by our dedicated house captains and vice captains.

Students eagerly lined up for the grade races, showing determination, resilience and great sportsmanship throughout the competition. Congratulations to all our winners! Thank you to our families for their support and to our house captains and vice captains for helping make the day such a success.

SRC Jersey Day

During Term 2, Marsden Road Public School proudly participated in SRC Jersey Day. Students came dressed in their favourite sporting team’s jersey or colours and helped raise funds to support the care of cats in our local school community.

The day was made even more memorable when students received a special video message from former Marsden Road student and Socceroos defender, Miloš Degenek, during the FIFA World Cup. It was wonderful to see a former student representing Australia on the world stage and inspiring our students.

Students also enjoyed watching a match together, proudly cheering on the Socceroos and showing their Australian spirit.

A big thank you to our students, families and staff for supporting this worthy cause and making SRC Jersey Day such a memorable event for our school community.

Our students continue to impress us with their commitment to reading.

Together, they have now read more than 154 MILLION words through Literacy Pro this year!
